The challenge that I've chosen addresses to an environmental problem: forest fire. In 2012, almost 1000 ha of forest and vegetation were affected by the fire in Romania. Smoke from the combustion of forest, grass and peat is composed of hundreds of chemicals, many of which all known to be harmful to human health. The waste leaf litter is renewable in nature and has potential to address the issue of global energy crises primarily because of its environmental compatibility. By producing biomass pellets, both the forest can be saved from fire and the environment from air pollution.
